IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad Free Download for PC is a World War II combat flight simulator released in 2013. A combined effort of 1C Company, the publisher of IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover, and 777 Studios, developers of Rise of Flight, it inherits the name IL-2 Sturmovik from the IL-2 Sturmovik franchise series (2001—2011) and is included in the general series although it runs the DirectX 9 Rise of Flight game engine, known as Digital Nature and originally created in 2009. This new entity is making the first IL-2 game since the original developer, Maddox Games, was dissolved by 1C.

After 1C Game Studios halted development for IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover, they officially announced development for IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad in December 2012.[2]
Access to an early alpha was made available for 'Premium Edition' owners on November 19, 2013.[3]
The release date was originally planned for the first quarter of 2014.[4]
The full release date has been marked as October 20, 2014 on the Steam digital market.[5]
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad is the 11th installment in the IL-2 Sturmovik series, but due to difference in game engine, it is considered to belong to the third generation of IL-2 Sturmovik series. On the In November 2017, the development team announced several new titles for the generation and that the new generation of IL-2 will be called IL-2 Great Battles series.[6]
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow[edit]
Series has received next part IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Moscow in 2016. This expands Battle of Stalingrad with new areas and aircraft keeping most of technology the same.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban[edit]
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Kuban was released in 2018,[7] bringing graphics support for DirectX 11 and virtual reality.
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte[edit]
Set to be released in early as June of 2019. The pack includes aircraft that were operated by the USAAF, Royal Air Force and Luftwaffe during Operation Bodenplatte, the last and final large-scale offensive by the Luftwaffe in the closing stages of World War II. The pack is currently in Early Access.
